Trust is the foundation for our relationship with God.

We think about trust based on what we can see. We trust the delivery service to bring our order. We trust the person piloting our airplane to get us to our destination safely. We trust our loved ones to keep their word. But the Bible instructs us to trust based on what we cannot see.

We can neither see nor hear God, although we can be confident that He speaks to us, and that He expects us to listen and obey (Deuteronomy 4:12, 13).

It is a holy relationship built on the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ as our Savior (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:2; Hebrews 2:13; 1 Corinthians 10:4). It is the spiritual equivalent to what we do in the natural every day. God commands us to trust in Him Whom we cannot see (Psalm 37:3; Proverbs 3:5), which causes many people to stumble (Romans 9:33; 1 Peter 2:7-8).

We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and we can trust in God and do what He says (1 Peter 2:9-12).
