How do I choose God when parts of my life are completely broken, and how do I encourage you to do the same?

Life is full of choices—what to eat or drink, whether to work out, whether to work at all. And with those choices come consequences:

If I eat or drink substances that are known to cause health problems, then I can reasonably assume that my risk for health problems is greater.

If I decide not to work out, I can expect my muscles to grow a little smaller and my fat to grow a little bigger, as physiology goes.

If I decide not to work, there are obvious consequences with long-term financial (and possibly legal) implications.

Spiritual choices also come with consequences.

I choose God because I belong to Him (Romans 8:16-17). He makes intercession for me. He has called me to a life of service, and He loves me (Romans 8:26-30). I serve Him, not perfectly, but wholeheartedly, fulfilling my calling.

Bezalel was a man who was called and anointed by God to fulfill a certain calling, outlined in Exodus 31:1-11 and 35:30-36:2. For the next three chapters, scripture recounts all that Bezalel did to fulfill that calling (Exodus 36:8-39:31). This recounting is a perfect example of what happens when all members of a community—from the appointed leaders to generous givers—work together to serve God. And what happened when all the work was completed? Exodus 39:42-43.
