Confident in the Lord

What is it like to be confident in the Lord? It is to think about your life with Him the way you imagine your life with a perfect mate: wrapped securely in His Love, provided for, preferred.

Look to Jesus.

After His crucifixion, He rose and started walking about, asking questions as if nothing unusual happened.

  • He asks Mary, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” (John 20:15).
  • He asks the men on the road to Emmaus, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” And when they ask if He’s the only visitor who doesn’t know what things have happened, He probes, “What things?” (Luke 24:17-19)
  • He appears before the disciples and asks why they are troubled, shows them His scars, and asks for food (Luke 24:37-42).

When I think about the Lord’s conversations with those people, I think He was teaching them what I’m trying to tell you now. Yes, it happened, but no, don’t wallow in sorrow. Be confident. Follow Him. I think He was saying to them, “I won it for you. It’s over. Before the battle even began, I already won. Before you even were, I AM!” (Exodus 3:14; Genesis 1:1; John 1:1)
