We all know anger.  We get angry when someone cuts us off in traffic.  We get angry when our boss passes us over for a promotion.  And sometimes we get angry with God, for what we feel He has allowed to happen to us.

We are His creation, made in His image and His likeness (Genesis 1:26). He sent His Son Jesus, made just like us, but without sin, so that we would have a Savior who could identify with our thoughts and feelings, including our anger. Jesus is here to help us through all of it (Hebrews 2:17-18; 4:15-16).

Anger against God is a complicated issue. When we allow God into our hearts, we allow the Holy Spirit to come in to teach us how to deal with it (John 14:26). Being angry is human, but we must learn to take it to Him because the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20).

When you get angry, run to His throne. That’s where the healing begins.

God’s Anger:

Exodus 34:6

Psalm 30:5; 103:8, 9

How we are to respond to anger:

Psalm 4:4

Matthew 5:22

Ephesians 4:26, 31

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.               -Psalm 2:12, NKJV
